Classic Launches
A day spent on a classic launch or dayboat is a wonderful way to enjoy the water. Their traditional lines suit relaxed cruising, picnics, fishing and quiet summer afternoons on the many sheltered waterways around Australia.
Custom-built launches
At Denman Marine we can build a range of classic launch designs and tailor the boat to suit its intended use. Construction can be fully traditional, including clinker or carvel construction, or use modern timber boatbuilding methods.
Unlike a production fibreglass boat, a custom wooden launch is not limited by an existing mould. The interior can be kept simple or fitted out with features such as built-in ice boxes, refrigeration, storage and entertainment systems.
Power options
Power can range from vintage petrol “putt putt” engines through to modern diesels and electric propulsion. We have worked with traditional installations as well as modern electric-launch concepts designed for quiet running.
Construction options
Smaller launches can often be trailered, opening up a much wider range of cruising areas. We can also build larger launches using methods such as strip-planked western red cedar where that better suits the design and intended power system.
