Gartside 10′
We have built a number of these traditional 10-foot clinker dinghies over the years. Designed by well-known boatbuilder and designer Paul Gartside, they combine classic clinker construction with some of Tasmania’s finest boatbuilding timbers.

Traditional construction
We build these boats using traditional clinker methods. They are normally planked in Huon pine and King Billy pine, with a celery top pine backbone and frames.
The fitout can include grown Huon pine knees and breasthook with King Billy pine thwarts. The result is a small boat that puts the character of Tasmania’s native boatbuilding timbers on full display.

Rowing and sailing
The Gartside 10 rows and sails beautifully. Its size and traditional character make it well suited to exploring shallow bays, rivers and inlets.
One of our boats, Selkie, was photographed at Dove Lake, Cradle Mountain during production of an advertisement connected with the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Please note: the Gartside 10 is not available from Denman Marine in kit form.
